Wrapping Presents!🎁

One of my favourite things to do is wrapping presents for my family and friends. It's so satisfying for me when I see lots of presents under the tree for everyone🤩. But the thought of all that wrapping paper going to waste after someone has excitedly ripped it all up bothers me.

That's why last year, my family started wrapping things in brown paper or newspaper to make a difference. We made it nicer and brighter by decorating it with colourful pens (but don't stick stickers on it because that wouldn't make a difference to the environment) or wrapping a ribbon -or string- around it because you can always wear a ribbon in your hair or even pass it on and wrap another present with it! Or you can leave it plain, because sometimes it looks rather nice on it's own.

Facts on wrapping paper:

• It is said that 227000 miles of wrapping paper are used every year.
• Wrapping paper sometimes contains non-paper things like coloured shapes, glitter, plastics and this paper is often dyed and laminated, making it non-recyclable.
• 108,000,000 rolls of wrapping paper will be thrown away in Britain.
